Rates - £395.43 LTD/Umbrella OR £350.10 PAYE per day

About the role / project:
Network Rail is looking for a Senior Internal Communications Manager within their corporate, Communications function to focus on digital and front line engagement.
The internal communications team is part of the Communications function that includes - media, public affairs, customer and community relations and marketing. You will be a part of a team building a new generation of digital communications which inform, connect and inspire a diverse audience.
Heavily involved in the roll out of an Office 365 communication platform - including development and management of content, development of Yammer platform and leadership/training of a network of approximately sixty publishers - you will undertake reviews of effective digital front line communication and engagement activity, provision of coaching materials and support, identification of front line digital opportunities and development of user cases.
What you will do:
You'll be a member of the team that manages internal communication for Network colleagues, playing a leading role in successfully introducing new technology to colleagues on the front line and in locations across the UK.
You will contribute to the implementation of internal communications plans in support of Network Rail's transformation programme, including increasing access to local news and information, fostering a culture of collaboration and best practice, sharing and supporting our network of route and functional communicators in pursuit of Network Rail's broader communications objectives.
- Work as a key member of the national internal communication team, focusing on the national roll out of a new intranet and the wider Office 365 suite - also new to colleagues.
- Support colleagues across internal communications in adopting the new technology and ensuring it succeeds.
- You will take our successful use of Yammer to the next level, establishing best practice approaches organisation wide.
- Draft and publish content for internal communications channels - leading by example in terms of writing and presenting information on the web.
- Monitor and evaluate your internal communications initiatives by formal and informal means, and identifying and implementing quality and efficiency improvement initiatives.
- Provide internal communications guidance to senior leaders, and provide training and support to communication colleagues on digital channels
Your experience will include:
- Significant experience of internal communications, including current best practice in use of digital channels including Office 365, SharePoint, Yammer. Prior experience of developing/managing SharePoint intranets using Office 365 online.
- Ability to influence and inspire confidence in senior leaders and other colleagues.
- Experience leading the planning, development, delivery and measurement of internal communications programmes that support cultural, organisational and behaviour change within large, complex and unionised organisations
- Ability to shape and deliver key messages to various audiences and their individual needs, with experience and expertise in engaging with frontline or 'non-wired' colleagues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Great communicator within public sector communications
- You will be an experienced communicator with expertise in Office 365 implementation, and in driving adoption of SharePoint intranets.
- You will be educated to degree level or possess a professional qualification in communications.
- You will have sound knowledge of strategic corporate communications practices and substantial experience of internal communication channels development
