Senior Procurement Consultant in Birmingham, West Midlands, United Kingdom
Background:
Due to increased workload and securing of new clients within the Infrastructure sector, our client has a new opportunity for a Senior Procurement Consultant to join their growing Contract Services division in Birmingham.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to:

- advise major clients on large scale / flagship projects,

The wider team also includes specialists in procurement and contract strategy, project advisory and dispute resolution services.
The Opportunity:
The immediate role will be predominantly based on client site in Birmingham with scope to work out of one of Turner & Townsend's local offices. The individual will have the opportunity to work alongside a highly skilled team delivering best-in-class strategic procurement and contract advice, including end-to-end procurement services to one of their key account clients.
Further opportunities are available to travel both nationally and internationally to service and manage key commissions for our client's blue chip client portfolio.
Duties:
- To develop procurement and contract strategies for major packages and programmes of work on £multi-million projects to public and private sector clients.
- To support the leadership of the regional team including delivering procurement and contract projects, often based on client sites.
- To actively support the development and marketing of our clients Intelligent Procurement Product
- Take a lead role in delivering best-in-class strategic procurement advisory & end to end procurement services to key clients.

In particular we are looking for an individual with significant expertise in the following:
- Procurement strategy
- Contract Management
- OJEU Procurement
- Supply chain intelligence
- Contract development
- Commercial modelling
- Supplier evaluation strategies
- Contract terms, negotiation and award
- Construction and contract law.
Experience & Qualifications
- Preferably possess degree related to quantity surveying, law or procurement or be MCIPS.
- Extensive experience of various forms of construction contracts with particular focus on NEC and JCT.
- Confident, independent with a proven track record of delivering results.
- Detailed understanding of the latest UK Public Contracts and Utilities Regulations
- Be able to manage work/business development/career development activities.
- Excellent communication skills, adaptable, with a determination to succeed.
- People and/or team management including financial reporting responsibilities.
