The role

You will lead Planning for multidisciplinary schemes and provide expert planning support and mentoring. As the Senior Rail Planner you will have an OLE Design & Construction background, provide resource information for the business utilising existing systems and develop new systems to meet business needs. You will lead and develop business improvement and reporting within the project.

Key accountabilities

You will:

• Extract and provide business data using existing software systems, including Primavera to prepare and provide resource and cost information for the business.
• Provide expert leadership, mentoring, guidance and participation in the assessment, development and enhancement of planning systems within the business.
• Provide weekly planning, cost and resource information including utilisation and efficiency ratios for the business as required for the Engineering, Resource and Project teams.
• Interface and provide the required information to the Project teams to enable Project Management reporting, including cost planning.
• Proactively improve and enhance utilisation of resources, efficiencies and Project deliverables in conjunction with Project, Engineering and Resource teams.
• Establish clear communications and work effectively with members of the team.

Skills & experience

Essential:

• Relevant HND / HNC academic qualifications or equivalent and appropriate (10 years) planning delivery experience on large projects.
• Primavera experience - Advanced level.
• Commercially experienced and competent using Primavera systems for cost control.
• Experience in cost planning, resource management and rostering systems.
• Senior Project and Bid Management experience.
• Experience to lead and implement new planning processes.
• Ability to plan multi-disciplinary schemes.
• Experienced to mentor and ability to identify and share best practice.
• Computer literacy – including operation of excel in full functionality and technical experience of a wide range of planning systems.
