Senior Requirements Engineer in West Midlands, United Kingdom
We are working closely with a client of ours who are seeking an experienced Senior Requirements Engineer with a bias toward Rail Requirements for a long term Senior contracting role on a 6 month rolling basis.
The opportunity will be based in the clients West Midlands office on a contract basis with competitive day rates, the roles will have a degree of flexibility for the right candidates.
As a member of the Rail Systems Team, you will manage large sets of requirements for rail projects, supporting our design teams across the United Kingdom. You will assist the Requirements Manager in designing and implementing systematic management procedures for selecting, analysing, organising, developing and demonstrating compliance with requirements.
The role will have a varying level of responsibility acting as Senior Engineer to support the design teams growth and development. Responsibilities include but aren’t limited to:
- To train and support designers from other disciplines to successfully apply systems engineering techniques to rail projects; and
- Provide specialist rail systems expertise to projects.
- Identify, analyse, organise and develop requirements for and with project teams.
- Organise and record evidence showing how projects have met and complied with requirement
- Set up databases and processes for managing requirements and demonstrating compliance.
- Assist in the production of System Engineering plans and processes for requirements management and assurance.
• Report progress through a project and to contribute to safety assurance cases.
- Manage task lists, progress trackers and programmes of work on behalf of the Requirements Manager.
- Manage the planning and coaching teams of project teams to understand the need for and deliver the evidence for requirement management, verification and validation, and assurance evidence
- Manage the production and updating of Requirements & Standards Managements plans and their typical processes:
- Actively guide and support teams in their adherence to those Requirements Management processes
Qualification’s required:
• A university engineering degree in electrical, electronic or information systems
• Ideally, a masters degree in Railway Systems Engineering
• Ideally, an active member of INCOSE and/or the IET
