An excellent job opportunity for a forward-thinking Senior Sustainability Manager to work for a leading international consultancy and construction company that has delivered signature world class projects since 1990. This position is to be based in Dublin.
This position is to help deliver a large-scale data centre near Dublin, Ireland. The business unit delivers data centres for big tech clients across Europe and the UK. The aim of the clients is to be net zero carbon in the coming years. Most projects are aiming for the highest levels of sustainability and green certifications, either LEED platinum or BREEAM outstanding.
What will you be doing?
The principal objective for the senior sustainability manager is to deliver the clients requirements and drive our own ambitious strategy. To make sure this project delivers a sizable contribution towards our sustainability targets.
Lets talk about you
You are a great communicator with expert knowledge of the implementation of green building accreditation schemes, in particular LEED and BREEAM. Ideally you are qualified as a LEED AP, WELL AP or IMEA or BREEAM assessor/AP. You have experience of leading work winning and writing fee proposals and support the bidding process with strong business acumen and can translate technical topics into layperson language and articulate the value of sustainability.
Understanding data centres. You have strong technical knowledge and experience in one or more relevant sustainability topics (waste, carbon/energy, responsible sourcing, water, biodiversity). Knowledge of local environmental legislation in Ireland.

What will you be doing?

- Promoting innovation, best practice, new ideas and transfer knowledge across the business.
- Ensuring the environmental reporting and compliance requirements are met in the most business efficient manner
- Supporting work winning through bid support, client liaison, upskilling of colleagues and raising the companys profile externally
- Upskilling and managing the supply chain
- Supporting the drive to be a leader in sustainability
- Running local community initiatives and build key relationships with local stakeholders to ensure the project delivers increases social value i.e volunteering, school programs and promoting apprentices.
- Willing to travel to different projects across Europe
- Successfully supporting the implementation of the environmental management systems (EMS), including implementation of environmental risk assessment tools and optimising
- Providing expertise in EMS training and communication on EMS - able to coach and communicate in simple, impactful ways, including translation and education of the group strategy and annual goals for each area
- Being a focal point for technical support and help desk and able to trouble shoot. Translating technical topics into laypersons language and articulate the value of sustainability
- Championing sustainability and be a leader, encouraging behavioural change throughout the business
- Driving for business efficiency by working with other internal stakeholders and seeking as appropriate standardizing purchasing processes. This may involve negotiating nation-wide deals with suppliers and moving the reporting requirements to the suppliers.
- Reporting and compliance dimensions (i.e., waste, materials, carbon and energy, biodiversity, water).
- Interfacing with internal stakeholders and suppliers to negotiate optimal business agreements for common purchasing.
