I am looking to place a Senior Transport Modeller in a multidisciplinary engineering consultancys Manchester office, near Piccadilly Station. The firm has had a steady increase in workload and they are looking for senior members of staff who have experience of transport planning in both the public and private domain. The firm have been in operation for over 100 years and operate across the globe covering with multidisciplinary projects covering civils, structures, transportation, M+E, etc and project values in the hundreds of millions.

This role would suit someone who is ready to take a step up in terms of responsibility or someone who has already operated at a Senior level for a protracted period. More senior appointments are also available for those with the right background.

The role will feature developing and maintaining key relationships with a range of clients, ensuring development proposals for public and private schemes are suitable. You will also be responsible for Planning Appeals, Public Inquiries and generating designs for a range of new junctions and road networks and any other duties that may come up with a Transport Planning focus.

The firm use a range of software including, but not limited to, ARCADY, PICADY, LinSig, TRICS/TEMPRO, CUBE, SATURN, VISSIM, and AIMSUN. Further, knowledge of WebTAG and experience working to BIM level 2 (or higher) would be an advantage.

You will be leading a team of more junior engineers, so the desire and ability to mentor others is also a key part of this role. Likewise, being able to manage key stakeholder relationships is a key part of this role, so a broad range of interpersonal skills are highly desirable.

Job Requirements:
  • Relevant education in Transport Planning
  • (Working towards) MCIHT / MILT / MICE
  • Experience of private and public infrastructure developments
  • Experience of Planning Appeals, Public Inquiries and Transport Assessments
  • Software: TRICS/TEMPRO, Junctions 9 (ARCADY/PICADY), LinSig3
  • Knowledge of WebTAG
  • Experience working at BIM Level 2 or above
  • Client liaison experience
  • Local Authority experience
