A large, award-winning consultancy are recruiting a Senior Transport Planner to join a small but growing team of Transport Planning professionals in their Cambridgeshire office.
You will:
- Prepare and write transport assessment and travel plan reports
- Undertake traffic modelling using ARCADY, PICADY, LINSIG, TRANSYT, S-Paramics, VISSIM and SATURN
- Assist with data collection e.g. parking surveys and trip counts, then analyse and present the results
- Provide technical information to project design teams
- Apply quality requirements to yours and the wider team’s work to ensure quality and accuracy of technical output.
- Manage resources effectively to meet project demands with varying workload
- Prepare fee proposals for packages of work
- Assess the contractual and commercial risks a package of work may have, and initiate the necessary mitigation measures
- Set and work to deadlines and targets
- Ensure compliance with relevant Health and Safety regulations and wider company practice
- Work in collaboration with other disciplines
Your experience will include:
- A degree or vocational equivalent in a relevant field.
- Previous experience in in transport planning, ideally within a consultancy or local authority.
- High level of communication skills, both written and verbal.
- The ability to deliver transport planning solutions whilst simultaneously managing junior staff and projects.
- A good knowledge of the full transport planning process, from strategic appraisal through to transport assessments and traffic engineering.
- Great technical experience, including a working knowledge of relevant software e.g. TRANSYT, LINSIG, ARCADY, PICADY, VISSIM, SATURN etc.
- Previous experience of working in the Planning Regulatory framework including; application of current highway design guidance, application of the relevant planning circulars and development control policies.
- Proven experience in preparing and writing transport assessment and travel plan reports, with a keen attention to detail
- Proven experience developing and preparing strategic highways schemes and associated business case development
