Job Summary
We are looking to recruit a Social Value Advisor to work with the TRUe Alliance on the East of Leeds project.
The Social Value Advisor role is diverse and involves a considerable amount of internal and external stakeholder management. Working with the Environment & Sustainability Manager you will have the opportunity to deliver project activities related to social value on a high-profile Network Rail project. You will also be responsible for engaging stakeholders (eg staff, local communities, supply chain) in the development and delivery of social value plans, as part of the wider TRU programme.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
- Assessing the potential impact of works on communities – social and economic – and developing strategies to mitigate negative impacts and enhance benefits.
- Working with project teams and key partners to deliver agreed social value KPI’s for each project.
- Engaging with local communities to understand local needs and deliver volunteering targets and programmes.
- Working with the PMO to develop and deliver school engagement and STEM programmes on behalf of the Alliance. Work with educators, training providers, and stakeholders to meet the outcomes of the skills agenda and inspire the next generation.
- Deliver and report on the Alliance social performance plan and wider Alliance KRA’s
- Support the delivery of social and economic BREEAM credits
Job Requirements
This role will be ideally suited to candidates who have experience of working within the charitable/volunteering sector. You will be self-motivated with a pro-active approach and have experience of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to form positive internal and external relationships are key requirements for this role. The successful candidate will also have the following:
- GCSEs Grade C or above in the core subjects
- Report writing skills
- Data analysis and reporting
- Ability to prioritise and manage a diverse workload.
Previous experience of working in a corporate responsibility role would be a distinct advantage.
