System Adviser
As a Systems Adviser you will manage and maintain the day to day management, operation and data required for the Petitioning process and the Select Committee Parliamentary Evidence System.
About the role:
- Manage, and develop as required, the processes and procedures to support the day to day operations of the petition handling process and the Parliamentary Evidence Systems, including the management of system failures.
- Lead on the 'Right to be Heard' aspect of petition handling, including the liaison with legal representatives and the Department for Transport.
- Lead on the set up of the Committee rooms prior to Select Committee, and manage any systems issues that arise during the Committee process.
- Manage the accurate and timely input of evidence for exchange via the Parliamentary Evidence Management Systems
- Manage the accurate and timely provision of Promoter's Response Documents, U&A issue letters, and any other mass communication with petitioners/beneficiaries.
- Lead on the mapping of U&As within gViewer, the management of this workflow and ensuring accuracy through liaison with Land and Property and the Construction Directorate as required.
- Manage the provision of assistance and guidance to the Hybrid bill directorate on the operation of relevant systems and processes related to petition handling and the evidence systems in Parliament, and the Data contingency back up procedure (backup of all essential documents).
- Lead on ensuring the accuracy of the Directorate's interchange page through the review and management of team updates.
- Act as a 'super user' on matters relating to inputting and updating data to ensure information is accurately recorded in the Stakeholder Relations Management, Petition Management, and Parliamentary Management database systems.
About You:
- An understanding of managing processes and procedures and monitoring their effectiveness
- Superior knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) including use of Outlook for diary and task management
- Organisational and prioritisation skills, able to ensure progress is maintained within project timelines
- Ability to confidently engage with stakeholders and colleagues at all levels to generate commitments to goals
- Project management skills -to coordinate the multiple disciplinary inputs required to ensure the provision of detailed, accurate information on time.
- Understanding the process of managing a Bill through Parliament, specifically the petitioning process and the working of the Select Committee
- Understanding the importance of the accurate and detailing recording of stakeholder data.
