As a Transport Security Advisor your main responsibilities would be:

• Assisting in security planning, arrangements and delivery (including provision by security partners) ensuring accordance with NTS’ TSS
• Building upon key relationships with external stakeholders including:
  • Civil Nuclear Constabulary
  • Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy
  • Maritime and Coastguard Agency
  • Office of Rail and Road
  • Department for Transport
  • British Transport Police Authority
  • Ministry of Defence Police
  • Ministry of Defence
  • Royal Navy
  • Office for Nuclear Regulation
• Assisting in the delivery of the division’s operational security arrangements for all modalities as required
• Assisting in delivering international consultancy capability (IAEA, KCL, WNTI etc.)
• Representing NTS at security meetings, conferences & forums (IAEA, etc.)
• Assisting with any training and exercising activities
• Producing operational orders, Operational Requirements (ORs), and other documentation as required

You’ll have:

• Degree or SQF Level 5 and multiple years’ experience in a security environment.
• Working knowledge of military or police operations
• Knowledge of civil nuclear, rail or maritime sector
• Experience of supporting a multi discipline organisation
• Strong communications skills and able to adapt to changing situations
• Previous experience of providing and presenting consultative work
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, particularly Microsoft PowerPoint

It would be good for you to have:

• Membership of a relevant professional affiliation (e.g. UK’s Security Institute)
• Completed NSAN
