Ford & Stanley - The Rail Recruitment Experts are recruiting a manufacturing engineer to work with one of the UK's biggest Rolling Stock overhaul firms on some of the industry's most exciting projects.

The Opportunity

This position could provide the opportunity for a HNC/HND educated mechanical technician to take the next step in their careers. It could also provide the opportunity for a line/ production engineer from a manufacturing or automotive background to experience a new industry.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and willing to 'get their hands dirty' on the shop floor conducting reverse engineering tasks, but also work in an office creating 2D drawings and 3D models and producing various technical documents.

Location (s): The position is based on site at one of the UK's oldest and most prestigious Rail manufacturing facilities.

Role and Responsibilities:

The Roles and responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

• Support Production/Manufacturing activities as and when required
• Produce Technical Specifications to define the performance of a product or component.
• Liaise with members of the Engineering community and other functions as required.

• Generate Technical Instructions for the installation of these components
• Create basic layout drawings using a 3D modelling package

• Undertake and/or participate in reverse engineering exercises.

• Lead and/or support in any process improvements based on safety, quality, cost

and delivery.

• Undertake any other activities, which you have the relevant skills to undertake.
• A flexible approach to working hours, and work both on and off-site.

Essentials
