The Ideal Candidate

You will an experienced Manufacturing Engineer, with a strong understanding of Continuous improvement techniques within the Manufacturing sector of one of the following industries; Automotive, Rail, Aerospace or Marine. You will also be willing to travel overseas on business trips sometimes of several weeks in duration during the development phase of new projects.

About the Position

This demanding role will require you to work as part of production area team as well as provide technical support to the manufacturing engineering function. Providing engineering support to the production facility and carry out work analysis, method study and labour utilisation analysis. You will also assist in the designing and acquisition of jigs and fixtures and provide specification and evaluation of production tools.

You will introduce and participate in Kaizen activities. You will evaluate and provide justification of capital investment projects. Continually promote best practice and safe working procedures.

The Requirements

Manufacturing background – vehicle industry desired

Further education in an engineering discipline (HNC or higher equivalent)

Experience of a similar role in manufacturing industry

Knowledge of LEAN tools and techniques

Willingness to learn new skills and adopt company standards
