Samuel Knight Rail are delighted to be recruiting for our world leading Rail manufacturing client, who through growth have a requirement for a P6 Planner to join their excellent team in Milton Keynes.

The Planning function plays a significant role in establishing a new project management philosophy whereby all projects are planned and managed from the concept stage or point of tendering, through mobilisation, operations, aftersales and project closure.

Responsibilities:

• To plan, maintain and manage planning data using specified business system(s)/software
• To provide a professional Project Planning service to the business and facilitate the successful delivery of projects through the application of world class project management disciplines and controls
• To enable “Project and business Performance Reporting” by Area/Project in line with business target KPI’s
• Rollout of Primavera planning processes across major projects in progress • Professional planning support provided throughout bid phases of multiple bids
• Support to the overall Projects Strategy implementation, acting as champions of new process (e.g. rollout of formal Gate Reviews in accordance with LOP procedures)
• Mobilisation of high priority projects which require high levels of planning support which is a current challenge to provide with the team size
• Supporting new bids and tenders coming downstream in the workload that are not currently identified
• Coordinate the plan inputs associated with Tasks, Manpower, Materials and other resources as required • Maintain work centre planning data and associated templates
• Produce reports to support the project function and wider business needs
• Project reports and KPI’s to support the project function and wider business needs Education Requirements • Recognised Planning qualification, and or suitable experience in Project and Production planning using Primavera and or MS Project.
• Excellent communicator with an eye for detail
• Team player with a passion for delivering the desired results
• Well organised but flexible and able to operate in a dynamic organisation Competencies:
