JOB DESCRIPTION
The 4LM programme are looking to form a new team for the fitment of the new TBTC system on the Engineering Vehicles. The installation will be completed to specified standards of safety, quality and reliability in order to meet project deliverables, in line with the procedures required.
The successful candidates will be responsible for supporting the electrical and mechanical strip out and fitment of the diverse London Underground Engineering Vehicle fleet, to meet or exceed safety, quality and productivity targets.
The fitment location will be Ruislip Depot, but candidates should will be flexible enough to travel to other locations should it be required.
Candidates will have previous experience of undertaking fitment, testing and repair work on Rolling Stock. It is required to have the ability to make sound engineering decisions and possess good communication skills, written and oral. Successful candidates will adhere to health and safety requirements, and other safety and technical standards, comply with all instructions, rules and regulations ensuring all relevant paperwork for testing is correctly completed on time and to required standards.
Due to the nature of the work/role, an appreciation of H&S at work is essential, plus in line with Rail Industry Protocols there is a zero policy re being under the influence of Drugs or Alcohol
*Working as an individual or as part of a team, with the ability to demonstrate adequate individual and team job planning.
*To carry out work to the required standards of safety, quality and reliability, in order for requirements and safety to not be affected.
*Accurate written and numeracy skills in order to calculate or record situations associated with duties.
*Verbal skills in order to communicate effectively with other team members and management.
*Ensure safety and quality standards and practices meet legislation and LUL standards.
*Ensure all assurance documentation is satisfied and adhered to following all maintenance activities to include projects.
*Ensure that all tools and equipment used conform to the standards applied by the Unit and report all non-conformances.
*Demonstrate understanding of location and use of information sources for repairs e.g. Drawings, Manuals, Work Instructions and Procedures.
*Operate fixed and mobile Plant such as Forklift/Overhead Cranes/Machine Tools.
*Able to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions and recommend appropriate action to suit site conditions.
*Have the ability to work within the current asset management system to ensure full asset compliance to relevant rolling stock standards
*Be able to work to a 24/7 shift system.
*Knowledge of rolling stock systems, pneumatic equipment and electrical .
*Ability to read and translate schematic and technical drawings
*Ensuring keeping up-to-date with all service bulletins and new procedure ensuring that Quality systems are adhered to at all times
