TXM are providing a great client with Light and Heavy Train Maintenance services to the railway industry for the south of England. The successful candidate will be getting involved with a great company who is currently working with a strong order book for 2019 and beyond. Responsibilities Reporting to the Team Leader, as a Mechanical Fitter you’ll carry out the overhaul of rail vehicles to laid down standards and procedures and play an active part in continuously improving product quality. You will require a good knowledge of Bogies/under-frame and sub assemblies of rolling stock, and operating rail vehicles as required. Qualifications

• Previous experience and understanding of rail vehicle heavy maintenance activities and depot operations
• NVQ Level 2 certificate in Mechanical (or equivalent) preferably Rail Traction and Rolling Stock
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, with a solid understanding of mechanical drawings.
• Knowledge of health, safety and environmental standards and requirements
• Superb problem solving and organisation skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and work autonomously
• Ability to communicate well with other team members

• Overtime potentially available and paid at flat rate
• Start date - Monday 28th January 2019
• Working on London Underground trains
• Heavy overall working on bogies and under-frame with some fitting and assembly work. Be able to use an angle grinder
• Need own overalls, safety boots and basic tools – Specialist tools provided
• Any tools brought on site need a lockable box or take them home each night.
• Lockers available for personal items

As a Mechanical Fitter you will receive £16 p/h flat rate. Contract: 3 month initial contract, working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday 7am to 4pm.
