I am currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join a multi discipline Building Services Design Consutlancy who undertake mechanical and electrical design services. Their recent project wins include Centre Parc (Woburn) where theyare undertaking 625 lodges at the new Centre Parcs site, Walthamstow Stadium - redevloping 294 units spread over 18 blocks, Farrow Court (mechanical and Electrical Design to residential care home).

This is the perfect opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer who is fed up with the London Commute and life style, living in Kent/ Essex and who is ready for a change - where he/she can get in the car and be home within half an hour, without the commuter trafific- and alongisde that hassle of delayed trains!

Due to an expanding workload, they are looking for an enthusiastic Senior MEchanicalDesign Engineer to join their office in Rochester.

As the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer you will be responsible for taking the lead in overall preparation and submission of detailed design and co-ordination of Building Services Solutions, including Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Gas, Utilities, Compressed Air and Plant Layouts. You will use design software such as: AutoCAD to prepare detailed designs and sketches, as well as preparing stage reports and outline designs. You will hold exceptional communication skills, as you will be liaising with clients, contractors and architects to ensure you understand the project requirements and prepare proposals. You must have excellent project management skills and be able to hit the ground running!

Key Duties: -

• Manage and monitor project tasks
• Produce cost plans, pre-tender estimates and cost comparisons for system/plant
• Prepare project plan at outset and prepare programmes for design/pre-construction
• Produce design sketches and design drawings for CAD

Essential Requirements: -

• Relevant qualification such as ONC/HNC/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering, working towards chartered status
• Experience of working on a range of project types
• Works well both as part of a team, as well as independently with minimal supervision
