We are currently looking for a Site Engineer (mechanical) to join the heart of the UK’s largest rail infrastructure project, Crossrail.
As the Site Engineer you’ll be a site-based Mechanical Site Engineer is required to support the Employer in delivering the Mechanical Systems Monitoring and Reporting for Bond Street Station. They will plan, coordinate, monitor and direct all Mechanical Installation and Testing and Commissioning activities to ensure the Mechanical systems are installed and commissioned to meet the appropriate standards and requirements reporting to the Mechanical Package Manager and Testing and Commissioning Manager in delivering fully integrated and commissioned systems.
The day to day:
- Plan, coordinate and direct Mechanical Installation activities within an assigned area for the Bond Street Station project.
- Supervise, coordinate, and review the work of assigned engineers, estimate staffing needs and schedules.
- In conjunction with the Mechanical Package Manager, supervise and direct subcontractor personnel as required to support planned activities. Plan work with the Contractors, monitor and control it in accordance with the terms of the contract to stay within the schedule constraints.
- Prepare/ review detailed Installation and T&C plans for assigned system installation and commissioning activities.
- Provide input and updates to project controls as required to maintain accuracy and progress of project schedules, and other progress tracking tools.
- Coordinate closely with Construction delivery teams for turnover of systems and Documentation.
- Participate in system Handover walkdowns for both Construction and Client turnovers; initiate, track and resolve punch list items for assigned areas of responsibility.
- Collaborate and co-operate with other CRL entities involved in station system delivery, Chief Engineer’s Group and Railway testing, trials and commissioning
About You:
- Extensive knowledge of precedents in the start-up and operations areas and a broad knowledge of principles and practices of related areas.
- Broad knowledge of industry and regulatory standards and criteria pertinent to start-up, maintenance, operations, or testing.
- Track record of developing a proactive and collaborative relationship with the Customer teams.
- Experience of working in an environment of a complex structure of stakeholders and ability to maintain good relationships throughout
- Able to demonstrate the application of governance utilising business systems and construction processes that develop a result driven culture of excellence throughout the project team.
- Good Technical knowledge and experience of mechanical systems testing and commissioning including a thorough understanding of the interfaces and integration tests required to successfully commission mechanical systems
Location: Bond Street, London
Rate: £Neg (role falls inside IR35 and so any successful candidate will have to operate via an umbrella solution.
