Long Term Contract- Immediate opportunity
My client currently has an opportunity for experienced Assembly Operatives on a Contract basis, based out of the Swindon area.
As the, Assembly Operator, you will ensure accurate and timely completion of assembly requirements to stringent quality assurance standards. Assist in delivery of customer service excellence by individual contribution and performance, adhering to all site Health & Safety procedures. Undertake Pre-Assembly of OLE components at the OLE Pre-Assembly Facility for an Electrification contract.
As the, Assembly Operator your Key Responsibilities will be to:-
- Assembly of sub-assemblies such as single insulated cantilevers (SICs) and tensioning equipment, manufacture of OLE wiring ‘droppers’, ‘dressing’ of steelwork masts and portals with small parts steelwork and preparing other materials and assemblies as required
- Use and familiarity of technical drawings to guide during the assembly process and recording of materials and assembly details for quality assurance requirements
- Communicate effectively with other team members, internal & external customers assist new staff members where necessary and demonstrate open and constructive views
- Stewardship and looking after plant, tooling and equipment
- Use tooling and equipment for the purpose of assembling steelwork components
- Operate materials re-handling equipment, FLT and other plant equipment for which you have been trained and hold a current site license. Ensure all pre-operational checks are performed and any faults reported using the correct procedure.
- Comply with Manual handling training and best practice at all times
- To assist in achieving and maintaining high standards of hygiene within the facility
- Be familiar with and understand fire procedures in the event of an incident or practice drill.
- Assist the unloading of new materials onto pallets and stillages
- Assist the loading of materials onto vehicles.
- Assisting the materials planning staff with records of material usage and keeping stock take of materials
Key Skills, Experience:-
Experience of production or assembly work
FLT or MHE experience
Pre-Assembly tooling and equipment
Good team player
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to follow instructions
Ability to work under pressure and deal with short term changes
Willingness to learn new skills and develop
Computer Literacy
Emergency first aid at work
Operation of MHE in excess of 5 tonnes
Production Line experience
Working in an outdoor environment, behavioural competencies
Able to work as part of a team and on own initiative
Ability to work well under pressure
Reliability
Constructive & positive attitude
Conscientious
Qualifications Required:-
Rail PTS- Essential
OLEC 1 & 2, Desired but not essential as training can be provided
FLT and other plant equipment site licence
