I'm currently recruiting for a BIM Manager to work for my rail design client based out of Manchester.

A typical week may include:

Working with Technical Leads and Project Managers to develop and utilise robust multi-disciplinary design support processes that maximise information and data exchange across multiple software platforms and systems.

Producing and implementing project plans for Building Information Modelling working practices which align with client requirements.

Providing support at a project level assembling baseline existing design information models and discipline-specific template design coordination models.

Supporting the preparation of various aspects of design on rail capacity enhancement projects, highway improvement schemes, maintenance renewals and other major civil engineering projects.

Preparation of scheme designs and drawings, targeting 15% reduction in resourced inputs to achieve the same design products and the preparation of detailed design drawings and documents.

Providing support to all disciplines by controlling and maintaining access to data generated on projects using various forms of collaborative software.

Facilitating design model reviews and final presentation of completed designs.

Observation of company Health & Safety, Environmental, Commercial and Project Management procedures, as relevant to the tasks being undertaken.

We currently have exciting opportunities relating to leveraging our multi-disciplinary design skill sets into advanced Building Information Modelling outputs. Rail projects on the scale that we are currently working on also require input from the wider business and this role will have an influence on work being done to optimise our corporate Common Data Environment.
