CONTRACTORS ENGINEERING MANAGER (CEM) - RAIL CIVILS - NORTH WEST - PERMANENT

Contractors Engineering Manager is currently required to join a national railway contractor based in the North West who have secured work for the next 6 years. The CEM will take a lead role in overseeing design requirements and will have previous CRE and CEM experience.

Requirements:

• Educated to degree level or equivalent in Civil engineering or related field
• You must have been accepted as a CRE and a CEM previously with a main Contractor
• Over 10 years experience of working on the Railway
• Able to demonstrate a sound technical engineering understanding on various multi-disciplinary schemes
• Excellent understanding of Network Rail health & safety standards and a good level of understanding of CSM & TSI's
• Preferably chartered Engineer status or working towards this level

The role will involve:

• Reviewing all designs and making sure relevant engineering solutions can be found
• Undertaking design reviews for permanent and temporary works
• Attending client meeting, design meeting and review meetings to ensure design and implementation
• Overseeing all project documents such as Construction Phase Plans, Work Package Plans, Task Briefs, specifications and drawings
• Manage a team of Contractors Responsible Engineers ensuring the project is being successfully delivered through the GRIP phases
