Job title: Depot Supervisor - Rail and Rolling Stock
Job location: Doncaster
Salary: between £40,000 and £45,000

Job Summary:

To be responsible for the supervision of the engineers and ensuring that their designated duties are performed correctly in repairing and servicing the customer's fleet of diesel engines.

Key Responsibilities:

-Ensure that the HSQE Manager and Senior Supervisor are notified immediately of any H&S incidents.
-Maintaining and updating the HSQE 'site packs' for the depots under their responsibility.
-Ensure that the depot accident book is correctly completed and that a copy of the entry has been sent to the HSQE Manager.
-Ensure that the Senior Supervisor is informed immediately of any quality issues that are related to poor workmanship by our engineers.
-Provide customer with weekly updates by email of the preventive maintenance planning forecast of the customer's fleet of engines.
-Data collection inputting (Travel reports, quality Issues, CIF, CCC via CMS etc.).
-Participate when required in the contract review meetings with the customer.
-Regularly review (3 monthly) the training and competency matrix with the support of the Senior Supervisor.
-Assist the Senior Supervisor with planning relevant training programmes for team members to ensure that development is in line with company policy.
-Manager the stock levels by ordering or returning preventive and corrective maintenance parts that are required to support the fleet of engines.
-Report any lateness/unauthorised absence to the Senior Supervisor.
-Report any issues which may arise of a disciplinary nature to the Senior Supervisor.
-Carry out random quality checks on team member's work and report any findings to the Senior Supervisor.
-Ensure that the engineers are working at acceptable levels during shifts to achieve optimum use of available man-hours.
-Ensure that all special tools and equipment are kept in good order and that repair requirements are notified to the Senior Supervisor once discovered.
-Accurately report parts used during service work as per internal processes to ensure our stock is effectively controlled and accounted for.

Person Profile:

Demonstrable management experience within a rail depot or similar environment.

Knowledge of diesel engines.

Must be well organised and be comfortable with organising others. Excellent planning skills are required in order to maintain rotas etc. An approachable demeanour is also helpful.

Computer Skills - proficient in Microsoft Office and using databases.

Literacy and Numeracy - Must be a competent writer of business emails and be numerate.
