The Company

Our client is a World-Famous specialist in the modification, overhaul and servicing of Rolling Stock and look after a variety of well-known clients throughout the country. Employing well over 150 people in the UK they are winning work like there’s no tomorrow and have contracts to carry out long term servicing and exam work as well as a whole host of mods and overhauls. The time has come to welcome some additional personnel to this traditional company to enable them to fulfil their contracts.

Your Role

As a Diesel Mechanic you will be responsible for ensuring that the Rolling Stock is methodically inspected to a high standard so the trains go out in the best shape possible. You will get involved with basic inspection of the diesel engine and underframe as well as checking brake pads and refuelling the fleet for the next service. You will even undergo a couple of Railway specific training courses.

As the latest Diesel Mechanic you will most likely be a working on diesel engines already, whether that’s on a car, a van or HGV’s. You will have a few years experience in your specialist field and will have either a full apprenticeship or at least an NVQ Level 3 in a mechanical discipline. You will be keen to increase your earnings by getting into the ever growing Rail sector in order to forge yourself a career path that could see you earning up to £500 a day as a Senior Engineer.

Your Reward

As the latest addition to this expanding organisation you will receive a starting hourly rate of £17 and will be given the opportunity to demonstrate your mechanical skills as a Diesel Mechanic with a possibility of staying long-term (who knows what the future holds?). This depot is a great place to work and is the perfect stepping stone for an Automotive or HGV mechanic to get into the Rolling Stock sector.
