You will be required for Implementing and maintaining the electrical distribution systems above and below ground on a major tunnelling project in London.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITY'S / KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Carrying out fault finding and repair of electrical plant.
*Extension and installation of tunnel services including lights, HV and LV cables, communications and gas detector cables.
*Carry out HV switching and testing
*Carrying out PPM and Test Sheets
*Provide on-going surface installations as and when required
SPECIFIC SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Electrician must comply with the following:
*Ensure that work under their control is carried out safely and without risks to health.
*Take reasonable care for the safety of themselves and of any person who may be affected by what they do or fail to do at work.
*Co-operate with their employer or any other persons in the performance of their statutory duties.
*Not misuse or interfere with anything provided in the interests of health and safety or welfare.
*Comply with the requirements of the clients Health and Safety policy and co-operate with the client in its efforts to prevent accidents and ill health including:
o Reading and complying with the location rules
o Behaving in a responsible manner at all times
oDeveloping and demonstrating a personal concern for the health and safety of themselves and others
oReporting all accidents, incidents and near misses to their line manager or health and safety manager as appropriate
oReporting all damage to plant and equipment to their immediate supervisor
o Using only that plant and equipment for which they have received training and authorisation
oUsing and looking after the protective equipment provided and reporting to their supervisor when it becomes worn or defective.
oEnsuring that any personal injuries are recorded in the accident book.
o Proposing to their immediate supervisor ways of eliminating hazards and improving safety and their workplace.
o Attending health surveillance when instructed
o Setting a personal example of safe behaviour
This project is long term and highly prestigious and will run for a period of 6 years - it is anticipated this role will last for unto 3 years in duration and work sites and shift patterns may vary over this time
