Electrifcation (OLE) Design Engineer in Reading, United Kingdom, Berkshire, United Kingdom

1. PURPOSE OF JOB

To perform detailed allocation and construction designs on a variety of projects, being a part of direct teams of Electrification Engineers.


2. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Design major Electrification engineering projects in accordance with Clients’ requirements.
• Achieve the targets agreed with the Principal Engineer/Project Co-ordinator regarding the effective delivery of major projects to current engineering and safety standards, within agreed timescales and budgets.
• Contribute to team performance against project quality plans and take necessary corrective action.
• Assist in the development of Graduate engineering and technical staff where necessary to ensure the skills are available within the Electrification engineering department to meet business objectives.
• Apply procedures and systems to ensure the safety of staff, and others

3.KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE


• HNC or equivalent
• Good railway electrification design office experience
• Proficient at computer aided design
• Design knowledge
• Good knowledge and experience of electrification design principles and standards
• Ability to develop and maintain client relationships
• Awareness of contract conditions
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• Demonstrate working/communicating across teams within the company to ensure delivery of projects
• Self-motivated team player. Able to work with the minimum of supervision
• Commercial awareness
• Computer literate – specifically CAD, Lotus notes, Microsoft Office packages
• IT Computer literate – specifically CAD, Lotus notes, Microsoft Office packages
