The Opportunity
We are looking for a proactive, ambitious and enthusiastic professional to join a fast moving operational engineering team you should be ability to multi task, co-ordinate resources effectively and achieve targets within stringent deadlines. Ideally we need to recruit for a proficient leader who is able to encourage cohesion and commitment for direct reports and other internal & external stakeholders.
Location (s): Manchester
Role and Responsibilities:
- Sets strategy for maintenance to meet business targets in terms of Cost, Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety
- Lead investigations into Hazardous and Safety Related Incidents.
- Provides professional technical support and guidance to maintenance department and supports reliability growth and improvement initiatives
- Managing workloads through effective team management
- Implement and manage the Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) regimes
- Develop and enhance the engineering maintenance standards
- Work collaboratively with relevant business unit’s stakeholders to ensure an aligned approach
- Manage all engineering change
- Manage and report on projects Quality, Cost and Delivery status
- Lead Return of Experience workshops on projects capturing and implementing improvements
- Developing and managing action plans designed to encourage continuous improvement
The Candidate
- Candidates will be qualified to a minimum of a bachelor degree or an equivalent level in at least one of the following engineering discipline, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic or Electro – Mechanical
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- A member of a recognised engineering institute
- Rail experience (light rail preferred).
- Experience of leading a team in multi technical disciplines.
- Experience of leading strategic projects
- Knowledge of EN50126
- Knowledge of Reliability Centred Maintenance (Technical Standard SAE JA1011)
- Good working knowledge of FMECA, Fault & Event Trees, HAZOP and QRA
- Experience of leading complex technical projects
- Can demonstrate agile project management
- Prince2, or equivalent - advantageous
- Knowledge of supply chain and materials management
