Environmental Advisor
London- Covering various sites across the South
The Company
Our client is one of the leading engineering and construction companies in the UK and provide specialist building, civil engineering and rail expertise to a range of markets. They deliver successful projects in a wide range of industries, including commercial, industrial, education, rail infrastructure and depots, airports, waste and energy. If successful in securing the Environmental Advisor role, you will be working on a number of rail projects across the South.
Projects include;

Station projects
-
Bridge structure package (numerous locations)
-
Track connection from new depot to main line.

Platform extensions, signalling etc.

Track doubling, level crossing closures & equestrian bridge
Responsibilities of an Environmental Advisor;
-
To actively engage in the inspection and establishment of environmental protection measures.

To ensure that information, training and instruction and task-specific advice on environmental management meets the needs of employees and those working on our behalf.

To ensure that the EMS and associated supporting information incorporates construction processes.
-
To ensure that the requirements of the EMS are being applied on operational projects and associated activities.

To monitor operational compliance to the EMS, and the requirements of BS EN ISO 14001:2004, ensuring implementation of effective improvement / preventive measures.

The reporting of environmental related performance information, including but not restricted to audits, non-conformances, incidents.

The effective use of Workspace functionalities in their relation to operational records.

To ensure that environmental aspects of pre-qualification questionnaires and tenders are in accordance with the EMS.
The person
-
You can be from either from a rail background or general infrastructure (highways, pylons, pipelines or buildings). This is great opportunity for someone with no or very little rail experience to get into the industry.

All training will be provided so you must show that you have an enthusiastic attitude to learn new skills

Flexibility on travel is a must as you will be covering 10+sites
The remuneration package for this role is as follows;

Salary is dependent on experience

Car or car allowance
-
5% company pension
-
25 days’ holiday (this will increase with service)

6 x salary for death in service
