STE4 Examiner

XEIAD is a Civil Engineering Consultancy specialising in difficult access inspections of the Rail and Highway infrastructure with offices based in Derbyshire, Bristol and Devon. We are currently looking for STE4 examiners to undertake structural inspections, leading a small inspections team, and to produce inspection reports to a high standard ensuring that all works are undertaken safely and in accordance with XEIAD Policies and Procedures.

Key Accountabilities:

• Undertake structural inspections to various standards, proficient in Network Rail Standards as a minimum, and in accordance with pre-prepared Method Statements / Work Package Plans and Task Briefing Sheets
• Undertake reconnaissance visits where appropriate and provide adequate resource plans to include proposed methods of working and labour and plant resource estimates
• Organising operational/on-site activities facilitating examinations and surveying of varying structures through active participation, planning and the proper recording of data as directed per varying specifications
• Undertake and represent the company as being responsible for onsite/dynamic risk assessments and carry out necessary alterations to work package plans as required with approval of appropriate Delivery Manager
• Assist Management in the preparation of asset inspection tenders and quotations
• To promote safe working practices and leading by example when undertaking operational duties
• Provide technical support and guidance to Trainee Inspectors and Inspectors where necessary

Due to the nature of the work, we are looking for people who have a head for Heights and be able to work in confined spaces in which you will be fully trained. As part of the Network Rail compliance you must be aged 18 or over and required to undergo Pre Medical and Drug and Alcohol screening.

Qualifications/Knowledge & Skills

Essential:

• STE 4 Competent – Network Rail Competency
• IRATA (Rope access Technician)
• PTS/Sentinel Card
• Safety Critical awareness
• Must have experience in examination, inspection and subsequent report production to varying specifications
• IT Literate including Microsoft Office
• Full driving licence

Desirable:

• COSS – Controller of Site Safety
• Confined Space High risk
