SPL Powerlines UK Limited is a leading independent Railway OHLE provider within Europe. This year SPL Powerlines became 100% shareholders of two CPL projects, namely MMLE and H2M. As our work load continues to grow, we're looking for enthusiastic, experienced and determined candidates to join our Plant Team.

Full time 40 hours per week Saturday to Friday plus overtime.

Salary: To be discussed, dependent on qualifications and experience

DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Ensuring the current status of machines under repair are all relayed to the relevant staff/supervision and are left in a safe condition.Carry out ad-hoc maintenance and repairs of Rail Plant, machinery and equipment in accordance to manufacture vehicle maintenance and overhauls instructions and detailed in company procedures.
  • To carry out planned preventative maintenance in accordance with the repair notification procedures and schedules.Carry out electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic repairs as required.
  • Undertake fault finding, installations and testing of plant equipment to current legislation.
  • Ensure all company documentation is maintained in a timely manner.
  • Identify new means of improving the efficiency and reducing the down time of plant machinery.
  • Responsible for exercising reasonable care for the Health and Safety of yourself and others who may be affected by your acts or omissions.
  • You co-operate with your employer, as far as maybe necessary to enable you to carry out your legal duties in Health and Safety matters.
  • Ensure that all environmental issues are adhered to within the Company’s Environmental Awareness and Education Module.
  • Use the machines and ancillary equipment safely and in accordance with the training/instructions given, in line with company procedures.
  • Report any defect or potential hazard in equipment to the Plant Manager as soon as reasonably possible.

THE PERSON:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Rail Plant Fitter within the rail industry.
  • Basic IT skills
  • Willingness to travel and to learn and open minded for new technologies
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and support as required
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Full driving licence.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to stay calm and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to travel to different locations as and when required.
