Overview of your position as the GIS Spatial Data Coordinator

My client currently has an opportunity for GIS Spatial Data Coordinator for a long- term contract opportunity. As the GIS Spatial Data Coordinator you will be working within the GIS team and reporting to the GIS Manager Spatial Data. You will support HS2 in the form of spatial data management and analysis, cartography and related GIS activities. You will have strong GIS technical skills in automated workflows, data management/modelling and data translation and transformation. You will be working with the other technical teams in Management Systems with a particular focus on GIS, BIM and Asset Information Management. You will reports to the GIS Manager (Spatial Data).

Key Responsibilities:-

You will be working within the GIS team and reporting to the GIS Manager Spatial Data, this role will support HS2 in the form of spatial data management and analysis, cartography and related GIS activities. As the GIS Spatial Data Coordinator you will be working with the other technical teams in Management Systems with a particular focus on GIS, BIM and Asset Information Management.

Of applying GIS and data management skills, principles and knowledge to support all GIS assignments and tasks.

You will work to best practices and industry standards to perform data management and analytical GIS tasks to a high standard.

Carry out regular reviews of spatial data standards, procedures and quality assurance.

You will develop, perform and quality assure data translations between GIS and CAD.

For developing and documenting FME workbenches for HS2 and supply chain users.

For developing and manage data specifications and standards to ensure consistent creation of spatial data.

To support the GIS Manager Spatial Data on all aspects of data procurement and the teams data management plan.

Of represent the GIS team at meetings and events as required.

For working to the HS2 S.A.F.E programme principles.

Of having contact with staff from various HS2 functions including Phase One delivery teams, IT, Management Systems, Document Control, Communications and Procurement.

Of liaising with external data and service providers.

Key Skills, Experience:-

The role requires strong GIS technical skills in automated workflows, data management/modelling and data translation and transformation.

Of maintain the GIS database in line with project standards and procedures, ensuring data integrity, quality and auditability.

Of using ESRI ArcGIS Desktop 10x including spatial analyst and 3D analyst extensions.

In developing Safe FME workbenches, preferably for data translations between Bentley CAD DGNs and ESRI GIS formats.

In Model Builder and writing Python scripts and building custom Toolbox’s for ArcGIS to automate tasks.

In managing large volumes of spatial data from a variety of sources and ensuring spatial data.

In developing GIS data specifications, standards and procedures.

Qualifications Required:-

GIS or Geography or similar.

Knowledge of enterprise geodatabases within the ArcGIS Server product stack an advantage, (not essential).

Knowledge of INSPIRE, PSMA and the Open Government License, (not essential).

Knowledge of web GIS solutions desirable, (not essential).

Understanding of mobile solutions, (not essential).

Working knowledge of ArcGIS Online, (not essential).

Working knowledge to apply Windows batch processes, schedule tasks and scripts, (not essential).
