Geospatial Data Specialist
Purpose of the Job
To create, manipulate, manage and make available geospatial project information required for the progress of the Project.
Principal Accountabilities
Administer and maintain geospatial information used as part of the Project.
Perform and report on geospatial queries as required.
Develop and maintain Geospatial data hub, to enable access to information and its use by other team members to meet Company objectives.
Provide technical support for the project and Rail for London (RfL) teams.
Develop functionality to provide efficient data exchange processes with third party systems.
Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected in the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working to Target Zero principles.

Main Challenges of the Job
Responsibility for developing, maintaining and providing the project and RfL teams with the project information needed for scheme development, asset registry / management and the managing of powers.
Administering and developing data held within the Project geospatial information system and assisting with geospatial queries as required.
Responsibility for maintaining compatibility between data managed using Bentley and ESRI desktop software and that this is managed and displayed using ESRI web-based software, including ArcGIS Enterprise and Portal for ArcGIS.
Working knowledge of FME for GIS data translation.
Assisting in creating data linkages between the GIS and RfL operational systems and developing methodologies for building functionality appropriate to operating and maintaining a railway system.
Assisting in the provision of data to external third parties including the Department for Transport, Network Rail and the public.
Person Specification
Relevant experience of geographical information systems using Esri products including Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Desktop and ArcGIS Enterprise.
Familiarity with the use of ArcGIS Online would be advantageous.
Working knowledge of Oracle Spatial, including SQL, DML, DDL and PL/SQL techniques are essential
Experience with Esri SDE GeoDatabase schemas would be beneficial.
Knowledge CAD software (ProjectWise / MicroStation) is desirable for integration between CAD and GIS platforms.
Knowledge of FME Desktop for translating CAD and GIS formats is essential, knowledge of workflow automation using FME Server would be beneficial.
Sound knowledge of cartography/topographic surveying and of the potential business benefits associated with computer aided techniques.
Experience with Asset Management Systems, specifically Maximo, would be beneficial.
Experience within the rail, or other relevant transport infrastructure industries would also be beneficial.
Knowledge of Python for creating custom workflows within the ArcGIS Platform, would be advantageous.
Good inter-personal skills with proven ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplined management team.
Excellent written and oral presentation of technical issues.
