Installation manager Plant Operations.
Responsibility to provide central guidance and expertise in the field of plant to ensure the delivery team can safely and effectively control plant on their sites. Must have in depth knowledge of plant, including road rail plant, have detailed knowledge of the NWR plant manual, POS requirements and provide the construction teams with key technical advice on the suitability of plant for their project needs. The role will also ensure we have an effective framework in place for suppliers and performance manage this across the projects.
Key Accountabilities
- Operates and promotes safe working practices across projects who utilise plant.
- Ensures suitable controls are in place to manage the plant on site.
- Identifies competences of staff to procure and manage plant and provide training as required.
- Performance manage the plant providers and control the use of RailPPS.
- Provide technical guidance to regional plant coordinators on suitability of plant.
- Assists in completion of documentation in accordance with management systems.
- Liaises with the Regional Construction managers to optimise service levels.
- Key account manager for the plant frameworks.
- Implements Company requirements on policy standards and legal regulations with specific attention to plant and technical compliance.
- What do I need to qualify for this job?
- Plant background with strong character
- Relevant POS manager qualification
- Applicable Construction/railway experience
- IOSH or CITB site management training or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills at all levels of department and other disciplines also customer and suppliers
- Must be willing to travel and lodge away from home depot to meet the operational needs of the business
