Job Summary
Strong order book, means that we need to ramp up delivery to meet various client programme commitments. Recruitment into these junior roles will aid growth of the team, allow career progression for existing employees and help with overall management of fatigue and morale.
Job Description:
General Description: Working from the AECOM office in Swindon and reporting to the Rail divisions S&C Alliance Responsible Manager, the Junior Planner will in cooperation with a more senior planner work towards producing all the necessary on-site safety paperwork and documentation. They will make and submit the labour requests, be the custodian of the SWP register and file the site document returns. The junior planner will assist the responsible manager in finding and booking track access to Network rail time scales.
They must be able to prioritise their own work load. Have a keen attention to detail and be flexible and adaptable in approach.
The Junior Planner will work towards attaining a full understanding of the planning role and aspire to work without supervision.
Duties:

Adheres to planning hierarchy

Produce the on-site safety paperwork

Assists in AECOM/S&C Alliance representation at NR planning meetings

Plans work to priorities set by Senior Planner

Monitor and report on productivity

File and monitor the site returns
-
Any other duties as directed by Operations Management

Work towards NR competencies PTS / COSS / SSoW planner

Minimum Requirements

Rail experience not essential as training will be given

Attention to detail, methodical and organised

Use of Excel and Word essential

Able to read and understand plans, training will be given

Flexible with working hours.

Driving Licence essential

Willingness to learn on-the-job.

Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential
Preferred Qualifications
- A Level or equivalent as minimum
