Following THALES successful partnership with London Underground (LUL), modernising Londons underground signalling infrastructure on the Jubilee and Northern upgrade project (JNUP), we have secured the £760million 4 Lines Modernisation Programme (4LM).
THALES is delivering an Automatic Train Control (ATC) system for four of London Undergrounds Sub Surface Rail (SSR) lines: District, Circle, Metropolitan and Hammersmith & City. The programme has a five year duration and is a comprehensive solution including management, design, development, manufacturing, supply, delivery, construction, installation, integration, testing, commissioning and migration.
The role is responsible for Material Requirements Planning (MRP) for Thales Ground Transport System projects, the jobholder will be accountable for managing all material demand on a major civil engineering project, whilst ensuring supply of products is delivered in time to meet the schedule.This is a full time, permanent position based in our offices in our offices in Stratford, London.
Duties & Responsibilities
- The jobholder will work with the various Project Delivery Managers, Supply Chain Managers and Asset Procurement Managers to select & set-up the appropriate Project Supply Chain structure in SAP, and then execute and maintain the MRP
- The MRP will need to evolve as the Project Engineering Bill of Materials develops, including advanced build or procurement to generic and aggregate material estimates, and moving to precise fixed activities as engineering designs are released.
- The jobholder will introduce the use of ERP Production Works Orders to the project for all in-house creation of higher-level configurable items such as assemblies or sub-assemblies, so as to provide configuration control and production build records as appropriate to the nature of the products being produced.
- implementation of an MPS and management of this in line with the programme schedule, with a strong emphasis on exception management
- The jobholder will be expected to introduce continuous improvement to the MRP tool along with recommendations for the wider supply chain with a strong reference to the ERP Master Data, planning and supply chain processes.
- Development of a seamless release of engineering / project design into the supply chain, and help support best practice including the implementation of effective ECN control as well as the potential use of project Sales Orders
- Demonstrable experience working in an MRP planning/scheduling capacity using SAP ECC6
- Extended knowledge of BOMs, ECN control and ERP Master Data.
- Confidence in the ability to deliver, be highly organised, an excellent communicator,
- Ability to influence and train and demonstrate a resilience to working in a change environment.
- A knowledge of P6 would be advantageous as would experience gained from working within a large-scale civil engineering or transportation projects environment
