What does this role involve?

  • Assist the Construction Manager with the day to day running of the OHLE department and help ensure it complies with Amey Rail Ltd Quality Management System and all Network Rail rules and regulations.
  • Compile shift reports and complete VFL on site
  • To ensure that all OHLE department staff are issued with adequate PPE, Training, equipment and any relevant updates and briefings as necessary.
  • Ensure that the OHLE department within Amey Rail Ltd complies with all statutory and Network Rail rules and regulations with regard to hours worked, drugs and alcohol and medical fitness policies.
  • Ensuring all OLE equipment is maintained including harness inspection are in date and controlled in accordance with LOLER regulations
  • Develop client relationships and business connections
  • Ensure client satisfaction with the service provided
  • To attend site meetings and collate relevant paperwork
  • To organise and manage staff under their control
  • Compile and give Method Statement briefings / task briefing/ tool box talks
  • To collate and complete all relevant documentation for staff and clients
  • To check all documentation is correctly filled in and returned to the depot reviewed, actioned and filed.
  • Ensure that only competent and fully certificated staff are used for duties on and off the railway infrastructure
  • Ensure any disputes or disciplinary actions are dealt with fairly and in accordance with company procedures
  • Control and implement OHLE designs through the company Quality procedure
  • Ensure all installations or removals of OLE are left clear of passage of electric traction
  • Monitor installation quality and where required initiate improvement
  • Manage site works against price and programme as required
  • Person responsible for the shift, reporting issues, accidents, incidents via a report after each shift

What are we looking for?

  • Demonstrable understanding in all types of OHLE construction
  • In depth knowledge of Network Rail rules and regulations
  • Demonstrable Knowledge of OLE system installation parameters and tolerances.
  • Supervise fabrication of OHL material and ability to break down design drawings to confirm correct allocation
  • Familiar with CDM regulations
