MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:

The job holder will provide duties as a POS Representative for SPL Powerlines Ltd.

MAIN DUTIES:

  • Carry out MC/CC Duties when required by the business
  • To ensure the MC / CC on site are competent as per Sentinel to operate the machines on site.
  • Ensure all site paperwork meets the required standards, by prior confirmation that the planning is satisfactory and understood.
  • To ensure that the POS licence holder meets the licence requirements at all times.
  • General knowledge of various rail and plant machines and equipment.
  • Complete site walkouts, assessing any site access hazards, access and egress storage.
  • Conducting “meet and greets” for the plant.
  • Participating in any required planning and delivery of jobs in order to ensure consistency and compliance on behalf of the client.
  • Attend PC meeting for new works as and when required.

THE PERSON

  • Experience specifically within Plant Operations and ideally within POS operations.
  • Valid PTS.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Willingness to travel and to learn and open minded for new technologies.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and support as required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Full driving licence and vehicle.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to stay calm and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to travel to different locations as and when required.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Criteria Essential Desirable
  • Qualifications

  • PTS card
  • Machine Controller/Crane Controller competence or have held this competence previously.

  • Previous experience
  • Experience in POS and plant operations
  • Experience in working alongside operations and the plant team

  • Experience required

  • Have an understanding of the requirements of GE/RT8000 – HB15 Duties of the machine controller (MC) and On-Track Plant (OTP) operator.
