Project Manager - Digital Rail

Ford & Stanley - The Rail Recruitment Specialists are working with a prestigious and innovative rail business who are a provider of software products for railway operations and signalling systems.

We are looking for a forward thinking and passionate Project Manager who will be working on future technology products and be involved with the improvement of the UK’s railway network and play a pivotal part in the development and delivery of products and projects that will make rail travel more efficient for future generations.

Key responsibilities

Reporting to the Programme Manager, the main responsibilities of the role holder include, but shall not be limited to:

• Manage assigned projects from inception to completion

• Ensure the delivery of projects which comply with business and customer expectations, within time and budget

• Compile and present timely project progress and financial reports

• Allocate tasks to the available resource effectively and efficiently

• Ensure staff and projects comply with the company quality and safety standards

• Conduct or provide information for staff reviews

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

• Good knowledge of using PC tools especially Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Project

• Excellent project management skills particularly in developing / maintaining effective working relationships, risk management, plans and budgets

• Experience of working within highly regulated industries, ideally rail, although candidates with experience in similar industries such as aerospace will be considered

Desirable

• Understanding of signalling design principles

• Understanding of railway traffic operation, particularly signalling control centres

• Understanding of signalling control system design, and especially data structures associated with SSI, IECC, MCS and ARS

• IRSE Licence of the appropriate category for current product line
