Rail Cleaning Operative in Derby, Greenwich, Greater London, England, United Kingdom

Rail Cleaning Operative

Wanted! We have an urgent requirement for Cleaning Operatives to join an experienced team to maintain the rail stations and infrastructure on one of London’s busiest lines.

Location: South East London

The Company

ATA are currently working with a recognised leader in the rail sector who work exclusively to maintain the route on one of London’s busiest transport links. With 7 rail stations and all the infrastructure to keep presentable and functionable including track and tunnels, this company are looking to add 3 Rail Cleaning Operatives to the team on a permanent basis.

The Candidate

Are you hard-working, willing to get your hands dirty and get satisfaction of a clean environment? Look no further, as we have a great opening for a cleaner to work on local railway stations using your skills and experience to ensure the properties along the route are always looking presentable.

This role would suit someone who not only has a strong cleaning background, but someone who has worked in a live industrial environment. As you will be working around heavy machinery and also getting involved on more technical assets such as the tunnels and track, you will benefit from working in a live and (potentially!) dangerous environment as safety always takes priority. Is this person you?

The Role:

Up for a challenge? Great, lets tell you about the role! Your sole responsibility will be to ensure the stations and infrastructure are clean and tidy by making sure all assets are cleaned according to schedule. You could either be more focused on the station property, or if you’re keen to get involved in more technical elements, you can receive training to complete tasks such as cleaning graffiti from tunnels or maintaining ticket machines – and more.

Due to the nature of the work, you will be on a rotating shift pattern of 6am-2pm, 2pm-10am, 10am-6pm changing weekly. You will be working 5 days out of 7, with weekend working as well. Therefore, you will need to be flexible and able to work all shifts. There is also the option of overtime.

Requirements:

If you’re loving the sound of this, here’s what you need to be considered for the role! Ideally experience within an industrial cleaning environment and are able to work according to the shift pattern above. If you’ve got experience of cleaning in a rail environment, even better!

You will also need a full UK driving licence.

Package

The basic salary on offer for the Rail Cleaning Operative is £19,000 plus package on top including pool vehicle, 33 days holiday, up to 5% matched pension, life assurance, private medical and a bonus!

If you’ve got relevant rail experience and tickets such as PTS, there may be flexibility on the basic salary.
