Role: Rail Divisional Manager
Location: Grangemouth, Scotland with national coverage
Salary: Attractive Salary - Negotiable
Reporting to: Rail Director
The primary purpose of the role is support the Rail Director with the Management of all NRL’s Rail business.
NRL’s Rail Division delivers a range of services to Network Rail and a number of the Principal Contractors operating within the Rail sector. Our services include Grinding, Signalling and Ultrasonic Inspection.
We are looking for the right individual to join the business and immediately take ownership of supporting the Rail Director and the Rail team in the delivery and maintenance of the supporting procedures and processes required.
The current Director will also be looking for the incumbent to work with him in a succession plan to take over directorship in due course.
You will be supported by an existing team of 9 which include Operational and Support staff.
Key Responsibilities:
• As Rail Divisional Manager, you will be accountable to the Rail Director for assisting in the delivery of services.
• Working closely with the Rail Director, Senior Managers and support staff.
• Assist with the review, develop and maintenance of NRL’s procedures and processes as required in line with changes to contract requirements, Network Rail and Company Standards.
• Day to day Management of Grangemouth support office staff.
• Assist the Rail Director with budgetary and projection requirements.
• Management of staff development in line with NRL’s process.
• Management of HSEQ compliant requirements for operating within the Rail industry.
The role will need to ensure that we continually assess the appropriateness, efficiency and value for money of the services and suppliers engaged in the supply chain. Where appropriate, you will identify and suggest changes to the Rail Director.
Key experience/competencies:
• Have held a senior management position with a Rail contractor with 5 years relevant experience.
• Team manager with excellent relationship skills, you will motivate, coach and develop a team in the delivery of the core services.
• Proven commercial experience with budgetary and projection experience within a Rail contractor.
• Have knowledge of HSEQ within a Rail Contractor.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organisational skills.
• Knowledge of Network Rail standards and contract conditions.
• Knowledge of RISQS and Sentinel operating requirements.
