STE4 Structures Examiner

XEIAD is a Civil Engineering Consultancy and Infrastructure Services provider operating throughout the UK. We currently have vacancies for STE4 Rail Structures Examiners to undertake Visual and Detailed Structural Examinations utilising specialist access techniques and to produce examination reports to a high standard ensuring that all works are undertaken safely and in accordance with XEIAD Policies and Procedures. The successful candidate will be experienced in leading examination teams and will preferably be competent to undertake STE7 Underwater Examinations

Primary Responsibilities:

- Undertake Structures Examinations in accordance with NR/L3/CIV/006, be proficient in Network Rail reporting standards (including BCMI), and deliver the on-site works in accordance with pre-prepared Work Package Plans and Task Briefing Sheets
- Undertake reconnaissance visits where appropriate and provide adequate resource plans to include proposed methods of working inclusive of labour and plant resource estimates
- Working with the Project Management team, facilitate the delivery of on-site activities ensuring that the works are completed safely, on time and without incident. Ensuring that all data is captured accurately, clearly and in accordance with XEIAD operating procedures
- To promote safe working practices and leading by example when undertaking operational duties
- Provide technical support and guidance to Trainee Examiners where necessary

Requirements

Essential

- STE4 Structures Examiner (valid competency)
- PTS (Personal Track Safety)
- Safety Critical awareness if not holding COSS or equal qualification
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in examination, inspection and subsequent report production to Network Rail specifications

Preferable

- STE7 Underwater Examiner (valid competency)
- IRATA Rope Access Technician
- Confined Space Entry
