Ford & Stanley - The Digital Rail Specialists are looking for a software developer to join our prestigious rail client based in London.
Key Responsibilities
- Be part of the internal software development team and work with delivery teams, partners and suppliers to ensure that solutions being developed are robust, scalable, open and secure, with appropriate overall system design and integration points/APIs, to deliver a high-quality user experience.
- Ensure information technology solutions are integrated to form a digital ecosystem delivering the great user experience.
- Analyse and understand specific project and organisation requirements and provide time and effort estimates for the implementation of business requirements.
- Work as part of a team or independently (depending on the size of the project) to undertake development, testing and implementation of applications to meet specific project requirements.
- Provide and maintain technical documentation for software solutions created/modified or maintained by the development team.
- Promote best practices in software development and work with the team to fine tune and optimise processes.
- Work with the Senior Developers to specify, build and maintain development, test and production software environments.
- Lead the resolution of technical issues arising in the delivery and operation of applications.
- Undertake Research & Development in new technologies and innovation that may help in achieving business goals.
The Ideal candidate
- At least 3 years commercial experience of software development using Microsoft technologies.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle.
- Demonstrable ability to work as part of a development team.
- Highly tuned analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deal with staff in a variety of disciplines and seniority.
- Experience of working directly with the business stakeholders to gather requirements.
- Keeping up to date with the latest advances/trends in technology.
