Vehicle Paint Sprayers are required to join a busy team with an industry-leading Rail Company based their technology and modernisation facility in Widnes. This in an excellent opportunity to gain rail experience whilst adding to your existing skills!
This facility has been opened in line with the 'Re-Paint Project' as part of a refurbishment of over 50 trains. The role of the Vehicle Paint Sprayers is to work alongside a team of Multi Disciplined Mechanical Fitters and Vehicle Preppers to deliver a full external re-spray of the trains.
Hours & Pay
Average of 45 hours per week over 12 weeks (6 x 2 week rosters) - The hours will be working a mixture of day and nights shifts including working weekends.
All hours are paid at £15.24 per hour for all hours worked.
This is a Limited Company/Umbrella Company rate - PAYE rates are available.
Start Date & Duration
Immediate starts available! This project is due to run until October 2019.
Location
The project is based in Widnes with excellent links by road to Liverpool, Warrington, Runcorn and the motorways!
Experience & Skills
* Experience of painting large surface areas e.g. trains/aircraft/large commercial vehicles
* Experience of repairing GRP (Glass Reinforced Phenolic) Components/Body Work
* Experience using 2K solvent based paints
Qualifications Required;
Applicants must have associated technical qualifications in commercial painting occupations (City & Guilds, SVQ or NVQ Level 2, or recognised equivalent) and/or equivalent experience.
Duties;
* Clean, prepare vehicles e.g. sanding, masking, filling, mixing of paint and painting to correct specification
* Clean, prepare and paint components off train
* Finishing, including peer group finished work inspection
* Operate as a member of a work team, as the role of that work team requires
* Participate in Company Initiatives, in particular to be engaged in Continuous Improvement (Kaizen) 5S activities
* Submit problem sheets (including evaluation sheets) with issues that are encountered on work being undertaken
* Maintain good housekeeping within the working area
* To comply with all depot protection procedures
* Understand and abide to safety notices, rules and regulations and follow safe working practices, H&SAW and COSHH
* Be capable of accepting training in other skills and carry out duties e.g. forklift and operational duties which could include movement of rail vehicles
* Provide on the job training to less experienced colleagues as requested
* Carry out final work and process inspections as required
* Able to work on own initiative where required
* Good judgement and decision-making capability
