Stores Person
A Stores Person is required to work on a long term contract, until December 2018, for Alstom Transport on the H5 project in Longsight, Manchester. This is a great opportunity to gain rail experience on one of the most technologically advanced train in the UK. The role could lead on to further opportunities within the rail industry or permanent roles with my client.
My Client is looking for people with previous experience of working within a stores environment and applicants must hold a valid counter balance license. Additionally a reach license is preferred, however this is not essential.
Start dates
They are looking for someone to start in the project immediately.
Shifts
The vast majority of people will work day shifts, Monday to Friday, and work 48 hours per week. However there may be a requirement to work occasional night shifts. This will be defined during the project mobilisation. Please also note during the start of the project the working hours may not be the full 48 per week during induction and training periods and are likely to be circa 40 hours per week.
Rates
The rate of pay for working days is £14.82 per hour.
The rate of pay for working night shifts is £15.86 per hour. However please note this is only paid for when you start work at 22:00 or work beyond this time on your shift.
Purpose of the Job
To ensure all stock is stored in good condition, in correct locations to correct standards, to fully satisfy all auditable procedures placed upon the stores function.
Objectives
- To work with the Production Supply Leader and Team Members to deliver:
- Stock Accuracy
- Material Supply
- Efficient Internal Logistics
- Bogie movements from warehouse to the bogie work shop.
Responsibilities
- Work as directed by the Materials Coordinator.
- Ensure security of Stores & Tool Stores.
- Ensure accurate booking in/out of stock and purchase order/goods received processes.
- Carry out regular stock checks using the Physical Inventory process.
- Ensure accurate booking in/out of tools, which may include calibrated equipment. Report any loss or damage to Materials Coordinator.
- Delivery of materials to point of use as required.
