TRU is a once-in-a-generation rail upgrade programme to deliver faster, longer, more frequent and more reliable rail services across the north of England, from Newcastle, Hull and York towards Manchester and Liverpool via Leeds. What is the purpose of this role?
To lead and motivate a team of engineers to plan and deliver temp works and associated works.
To be in charge of temp works site operations, directing and organising site activities to ensure that the planned works I delivered safely and on time

What will this role involve?
Co-ordinate all temporary works activities.
Ensure a temporary works register is established and maintained
Ensure that information relevant to the temporary works has been received from the client, ensure that a design brief is prepared with consultation within the project team and that it is both adequate and in accordance with the actual situation on site.
Ensure that any other temporary works in the vicinity are referenced in the design brief.
Ensure residual risks have been addressed. Provide information as required by CDM Regulations
Ensure that the design brief is issued to the TWD for a satisfactory temporary works design to be carried out.
Ensure that a design check is carried out by someone who was not involved in the original design and issue certificates.
Ensure inspections are carried out and that all temporary works are constructed and removed safely
What are we looking for?
Previous experience as a Temporary works Coordinator on a project of similar scale and complexity.
Qualified Civil Engineer or similar equivalent.
Proven knowledge of Network Rail technical standards and approval processes highly advantageous.
Depth of understanding of the construction environment for safe and buildable designs.
Ability to manage conflicting demands, assess priorities, proactively plan the works to ensure timely delivery of project requirements.
Disciplined approach to quality assurance and documentation. Attention to detail, ensuring legal compliance and satisfying project requirements.
Leading teams, people management skills, effective delegation, mentoring & coaching and developing others.
Working knowledge of CDM 2015 Regulations, in particular, the Designer and principal Contractors role.
What makes this role unique?
You will produce and implement an in process inspection and surveillance regime consistent with company standards and project requirements.
