Due to significant contract wins and the expansion of our core team, we have a number of vacancies for Trainee Structures Examiners to work across the UK with our current team. This vital role involves examination and inspection of railway assets including bridges, viaducts and retaining walls, ensuring that they are safe and in good condition for Network Rail’s passengers and freight.
Full training and mentoring will be provided and will include as standard:
• Railway safety critical training to COSS/SWL1 level
• STE4 Structures Examination Technical Qualification
• Confined space, PASMA and IPAF (cherry picker) operator training
In addition, there is also the opportunity to undertake IRATA Level 1 rope access training.
Your working location will be home based, with travel across the region to specific sites.

In return, we are looking for candidates who have:
• A proactive and safety conscious approach to work, and are able to self-motivate
• An eagerness to work within challenging environments, including confined spaces and working at height
• IT literacy and the ability to write technical reports (ideally with technical drawing skills)
• A good level of fitness and flexibility to work unsociable hours
• A full, clean driving licence
• Previous rail or Civil Engineering experience would be beneficial, but is not essential
