Trainer Consultant - Rolling Stock
Location: The location will be the nearest UK SNC-Lavalin office to home. The role itself is national and provides the opportunity to work throughout the UK and potentially overseas. Working away from home may therefore be required.
Job Description
The SNC-Lavalin Training and Competence Solutions Team is integrated with the other technical teams in the UK business, this creates unparalleled technical resource availability within a UK training consultancy. This technical resource, coupled with state of the art I.T. infrastructure results in SNC-Lavalin being able to offer a service of the highest quality in terms of consultancy, materials, technical content, technical support and customer service. The team is involved in many high profile cross industry projects encompassing new technology related to rolling stock, signaling, electrification and infrastructure while still supporting companies that have existing fleets and equipment.
An exciting opportunity exists to join the team as a Trainer Consultant to develop and deliver training packages mainly related to Traction & Rolling Stock but the opportunity to diversify and develop into other Rail related areas
Duties and responsibilities
Overall responsibility will be to train, support, assess and deliver Traction and Rolling Stock training to a wide range of railway employees. Other duties include
• Developing training packages using industry best practice and in line with SNC-Lavalin’s procedure for developing technical documentation
• Delivery of training packages using a variety of learning methodologies as appropriate. The delivery may be either SNC-Lavalin or client content.
• Conduct competence assessments to national standards.
• Providing consultancy in relation to training and competence.
Person Requirements
The position is open to either individuals who are currently qualified technical trainers or those who are passionate about developing people and wish to pursue a career in training. Suitable training would be provided for those who do not currently hold any teaching or training qualifications.
Ideally you will be Apprentice trained (or equivalent) in Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering, and experienced in working on Rolling Stock in a maintenance or other related technical capacity. Knowledge of modern rolling stock systems and equipment would be advantageous.
