Working in this client side organization you will be providing professional engineering expertise to the Facilities and Infrastructure (F&I) Branch, leading to the creation of Asset Management Plans, Technical Standards, Procedures and Instructions as well as providing technical leadership, advice and guidance to the F&I project teams to ensure adequate engineering assurance is in place to support the delivery of asset management plans.
Key responsibilities:

Prepares the engineering and infrastructure Asset Management Plans, ensuring planning requirements are incorporated into the capital investment processes and budget

Implements compliance changes to standards, specifications, practices and regulatory requirements as appropriate within the
-
Works with suppliers and consultants to develop Inspection and Test plans to ensure the delivery of projects meets the requirement of Asset Management
-
Prepares the branch operating budget in relation to asset management and improvement areas for approval by the Manager F&I.

Provides technical specialist advice to the Branch Manager in relation to projects where engineering expertise is required. This includes ensuring all designs are reviewed and checked and that projects are managed in accordance with applicable standards and compliance

Responsible for the preparation and checking of designs, and testing and commissioning of new or altered infrastructure and for the management of drawings and documents to ‘as built’, ‘upgrade’ and ‘current’ states.

Manages the development and implementation of works to monitor quality and quantity of all work undertaken by contractors and that work is completed in accordance with agreed timelines and project specifications, including testing and commissioning of new and established

Oversees the implementation of maintenance plans/strategies to ensure they are carried out in a safe, reliable manner and meet technical
To be suitable for the role you will have:

Relevant professional qualifications that would satisfy the admission requirement for Professional membership of the Institution of Engineers
-
Substantial experience in building services systems design, commissioning and maintenance, in particular focus on asset management, life cycle and asset reliability.

Substantial experience in providing engineering expertise and knowledge in asset renewals, replacement; the planning, design and delivery of maintenance and/or construction works in an operational asset intensive environment.

Substantial experience in applying safety management systems and knowledge of the Rail Safety Legislation (non-essential).

Substantial experience in applying asset management frameworks and leading the development of asset management

Demonstrated experience in managing the performance of an operational team and financial/physical resources in the achievement of agreed outcomes and providing a customer focused

Considerable experience in managing the engineering performance of contractors & project teams in the delivery of projects and
