We have an opportunity for a Principle Project Engineer working Monday to Friday days in London.

The role will be on a 3 month contract basis initially with a potential vision to go long term.

DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Liaise with signalling, telecoms, power, systems and other disciplines to ensure successful project engineering and to provide engineering support
• Application of ‘yellow book’ engineering principles
• Ensure integration of design, installation and testing and that the end product meets the client specification and has technical integrity
• Assist with possession planning
• Advise the design team on RAMS
• Act as CRE and/or CEM on contracts as and when required
• Highlight any project derogations or temporary non-compliances required by the project, liaising with the Signalling Engineering Manager to apply for them
• Attendance at the bi-monthly technical brief and completion of any necessary onward briefs to the Client and sub-contract staff.
• Ensure allocated contracts are technically compliant with relevant Group and client standards
• Act as technical contact and liaison in order to resolve technical issues within projects
• Carry out risk assessments
• Contribute to team briefing process and attend engineering reviews as required for allocated contracts
• Assist in the production or checking of method statements or work plans
• Carry out technical audits as a means of ensuring the project is following agreed applicable standards and practices
• Provide input to the development of the Business Management System.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Engineering Manager (Lead Engineer) (6.8.110) plus module F (Project Engineer) or Project Engineer 1.2.230 IRSE licence. - DESIRABLE
• MSc or BSc degree level education in an engineering discipline

EXPERIENCE

• Experience of working in signalling design, installation or testing with an in-depth knowledge of railway construction methods and materials used
• Minimum 5 years Project Engineering experience
