We are currently seeking for Product Engineer to manage and deliver the introduction of a new technology workstream package for UK application from concept design through to operational readiness within ALSTOM
As a Product Engineer you will be responsible to
-Lead and manage a multidisciplinary engineering team to deliver a new technology workstream package as allocated by the Platform Manager from design concept through to operational readiness within ALSTOM.
-Formulate a delivery plan for the introduction of a new technology workstream package in the UK from concept through to operational readiness within ALSTOM
-Identify the input required from other areas of the business to provide the key skills required to assist in the new technology development and negotiate their engagement and support for the implementation programme in conjunction with the Platform Manager.
-Cost of development works identified to Platform Manager and managed to budget
-Hardware resources required to support the delivery the introduction of the new technology workstream are identified to Platform Manager, budgeted and obtained in line with requirements for delivery, e.g. test equipment, special tools and facilities.
-Identify any safety assurance activities that will need to be undertaken by ALSTOM. Items to be programmed and resources identified
-Manage the liaison with Network Rail as directed by the Platform Manager to understand the customer technical, operational and timeline requirements for the new technology introduction and manage any gap in expectations.
-Manage the inclusion of the customer needs into the technical solution and programme with the technology provider. Highlight and manage any gaps in requirements.
-Through the management of the liaison with the technology provider, ensure that the UK requirements for the new technology workstream are understood and incorporated in accordance with the agreed delivery strategy.
-Assist Supply Chain with the development of a cost model for the new equipment as requested.
-Develop a spares holding proposal for the new equipment in conjunction with Supply Chain
-Ensure that any Operational activities required to roll out the new product are identified new equipment in conjunction with the Platform Manager
-Create a training programme for users within the Customer Organisation of the new equipment in conjunction with the Platform Manager
-Ensure all O&M material is available in a timely manner for internal and external use
-Produce regular reports on progress for the Platform Manager
-Agree with line manager to undertake achievement of annual objectives that have been set
The Candidate:
-BSc level education in an engineering discipline
-Incorporated Engineer
-Experience in systems engineering and product technology
-Knowledge of Network Rail standards relating to signalling infrastructure
-Health & safety awareness in connection with staff and engineering
-Experience of working at a senior level and leading a team
-Management of complex interfaces
-Understanding of risk and how it can affect the business
-Good Organisational skills
-Good Customer liaison skills
-Good Supplier liaison skills.
