Hours & Pay
Currently, the envisaged hours are being finalised, but there may be a requirement to work shifts. The hourly rate is to be circa £20 per hour (limited company) for all hours worked
Start date & Duration
Our client is looking for the successful applicant to start as soon as possible and could potentially be a long-term contract!
Location
This role is based in Polmadie, Glasgow.
Experience & Skills;
* Experience of working in a Traincare Centre Maintenance environment.
* In-depth knowledge and understanding of Traincare Centre customers.
* Knowledge of both the quality and safety systems.
* Experienced in planning railway operations or maintenance.
* A good knowledge of the railway operational environment
* A good knowledge of rail vehicle maintenance requirements.
Qualifications Required;
* HNC (or equivalent) in an engineering field (preferred)
* IT skills - competent user of Personal Computer, including office packages, e-mail, Internet.
* Good communication, report writing and organisational skills.
Responsibilities;
The successful applicant will be responsible for collating information regarding customers' requirements, depot resources (people and materials), depot infrastructure and available down time of traction and rolling stock so as to produce daily, short and medium-term plans for the train care centre.
Specific duties will include, but not be limited to;
* Providing 24-hour, 7 day a week cover within the planning department on a shift rotation basis.
* The Production Controller is the customer communication point for any enquiries, information updates or requests and additions to scheduled work; supported by the Production Managers role.
* To produce in conjunction with the Production Manager achievable plans to target key system/reliability issues, planned maintenance examinations and defect clearance on all customer vehicles.
* To ensure that plans are communicated to the Production Manager, Operations Coordinators and contractor's on a shift-by-shift basis and to assist in the delivery of the plan.
* To communicate, 2-way, with customers to ensure accurate and real time information is available at all times; ensuring that the Duty Production Manager is kept informed of customer requests at all times.
* To identify resource available by utilising the Maintenance Matrix and Operations Matrix to identify when staff are on Annual leave, sickness, training courses etc. From this information compile an availability list or staff predictor and ensure forecast shift deficits are addressed through the Production Managers.
* Communicate with relevant contractors to ensure that specialist activities or services are supplied when required and that those trains are made available and on the correct infrastructure for the work to be carried out.
