This is an exciting opportunity to work with a high profile Rail client in a depot environment in a Production Engineer capacity. These roles are few and far between!

Duties:

• Creation of heavy maintenance block cards and work instructions
• Creation of the project work breakdown structure (WBS)
• Work closely with the project teams performing the heavy maintenance, to ensure the timely resolution of material or obsolescence issues
• Creation and maintenance of Microsoft project plans to the ATC standard.
• Support the Production Manager in the delivery of the assigned heavy maintenance contracts
• Support the Production Manager in the presentation of KPI's and contract related information
• Support the Production Manager and Heavy Maintenance Manager in the mobilisation, delivery and close out of heavy maintenance contracts at ATC's Crewe site
• Recruitment of appropriately skilled teams to deliver specific work packages
• Manage the interaction and delivery of services from ATC colleagues to ensure the timely delivery of projects
• Drive continuous improvement innovations
• Ensure work locations are fit for purpose and compliant with relevant standards
• Responsible for the effective recording of activity in accordance with company, customer and best practice
• Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures

Qualifications, Skills and experience:

• City & Guilds / BTEC certificate in Engineering
• Professional membership of IMechE or IET
• People management training
• A full and valid driving licence is essential
• Previous experience, involvement and understanding of rail vehicle heavy maintenance activities
• Previous heavy maintenance project engineering experience
• Able to interpret engineering drawings to provide technical solutions
• Understanding of Traction and rolling stock systems in particular multiple units
• Understanding of applicable health, safety and environmental standards and requirement
• Previous experience of production efficiency tools and techniques
• Understanding of ROSCO/TOC/FOC relationships
• Good working knowledge of all company management accreditation's ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001
